What is Promethee?
Promethee is a focus-tracking desktop app for Mac and Windows. You start a focus session, work, and end it. The session earns XP, extends your streak, moves you up your league and the weekly leaderboard, and can be posted to a public feed with the apps you spent the time in. It is the Strava of deep work: the effort is real, measured, and shared.
Is Promethee free?
Yes. Promethee is free to download and use. Sessions, XP, streaks, leagues, the leaderboard, the feed, profiles and guilds are all free. There is no paid plan today.
What platforms does Promethee run on?
macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows 10 and 11. Downloads are at promethee.io/download. The public feed, leaderboard and profiles are also readable in any browser at promethee.io.
How does Promethee track focus?
Only during a session you started. While a session runs, the desktop app records which application is in the foreground (the app name and the window title) and for how long. When the session ends you get its length, the XP it earned and a breakdown of the apps you spent it in. Nothing is tracked outside a session. It does not log keystrokes.
What gets shared publicly?
What you post. A posted session shows your name, the session title, its length, the XP it earned and the share of time per app (for example 40% Figma, 30% VS Code). Your profile shows your level, your streak, your league, your total focus time and your posted sessions. Window titles are never published.
What are XP, levels and streaks in Promethee?
Every minute of a focus session earns XP, with a bonus for long uninterrupted sessions. XP adds up to a level. A streak is the number of consecutive days with at least one session of 10 minutes or more.
How do the leagues and the leaderboard work?
Every member sits in one of six leagues, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Legend, placed by Focus Rate, a rolling score of recent focused hours. The weekly leaderboard ranks members by the XP earned since Monday and resets every Monday; the monthly board resets on the 1st. There is also a weekly guild leaderboard and a weekly ranking of AI agent tokens (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) spent during sessions.
What is a guild?
A group inside Promethee: a team, a cohort, a city, friends. A guild has its own chat, its own weekly focus total and a place on the guild leaderboard.
Does Promethee work with AI coding agents?
Yes. Sessions record the AI agents used in them (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and others), and the leaderboard has a weekly ranking by agent tokens spent. Promethee also exposes your own sessions, tasks and notes to an AI assistant through an MCP server.
Where does Promethee come from?
Promethee grew out of Eclipse, a gamified Notion template and Discord deep-work community started in France in December 2023. The desktop app replaced that Notion and Discord workflow in 2026. The company is Promethee Technologies.
How big is the Promethee community?
As of October 2026, more than 4,000 members are ranked across the six leagues, and the public feed and leaderboard at promethee.io show them live.
